1)First Heli
Expo India & International Civil Helicopter Conclave Inaugurated Today.
It is held
in New Delhi and inaugurated by the Uttrakhand Tourism Minister Shri Satpal
Maharaja ji in the presence of the Secretary, Civil Aviation Shri R.N. Choubey,
CMD Pawan Hans, Dr. B. P. Sharma and other dignitaries.
This two
days 1st Heli Expo India & International Civil Helicopter Conclave-2017 is
organised by Pawan Hans Limited, a Mini Ratna company of Ministry of Civil
Aviation in association with PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry with the
theme of ‘Enhancing Connectivity’ at the Pawan Hans Heliport, Rohini, New
Delhi.
2) The first
issue of Pawan Hans Magazine Aviation Today is
unveiled by the chief guests on the occasion
of First Heli Expo India & International Civil Helicopter Conclave .
3) The
Chief of the Army Staff, General Bipin Rawat, paid homage and unveiled statues
of Field Marshal KM Cariappa and General KS Thimayya at Cauvery College,
Gonikoppal, Kodagu District on 04 November 2017 in the presence of a large
numberof civil and military dignitaries.
Field Marshal KM Cariappa was the first Indian Commander-in-Chief of the
Indian Army and was conferred the rank of Field Marshal on 28 April 1986.
General KS Thimayya was awarded the
Padma Bhushan in 1954 and took over as Chief of the Indian Army on 07 May 1957.
4) The Minister of State (Independent Charge) Youth Affairs and
Sports Col. Rajyavardhan Rathore has left to attend World Youth Forum,
scheduled to be held at Sharam El Shiekh, Egypt. The five-day forum will be
inaugurated by the President of Egypt Mr Abdelfateh El Sisi tomorrow.
Col Rathore
has been deputed on behalf of the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi to
represent the country at the Forum.
5) Ruling that technical
education could not be provided through correspondence courses, in a landmark
verdict affecting millions of students across India, a Bench of Justice AK Goel
and Justice UU Lalit today restrained educational institutions from providing
courses in subjects
such as
engineering and computer science in the distance education mode.
Some Important
directions given by Court.
■ Affected students (2001-05) to get two chances to clear AICTE-UGC
test, failing which their degrees will be ” recalled and cancelled”
■ If a student does not wish to appear in such tests, the money
deposited towards tuition and other fee will be refunded.
■ Students can
exercise the option by January 15, 2018, and the institutes have to refund the
students’ money by May 31
